Heating and water supply design
We calculate how much heat the house loses and pick the boiler, pipes and pump from that.
First we work out how much heat escapes through the walls, windows and roof. From that figure we pick the boiler, radiators, pipes and pump: no oversizing “just in case” and no shortfall in a cold snap. Then we draw the pipe layout, and if you want, we take on the installation too.

- The accuracy of the calculation depends on how correct the data about walls and insulation is.
- Installation is priced separately, after the design.
- Approval with the gas service is a separate job; we tell you about it in advance.
Frequently asked questions
Why calculate heat loss at all?
So you do not overpay. An oversized boiler costs more and runs in bursts; an undersized one will not cope in a cold snap.
What do I get in hand?
The calculation, the pipe layout and a list of pipes and units with sizes. Any tradesperson can work from those papers.
Will you install it too?
Yes, if you want. Installation is priced separately once the design is ready and the scope is clear.
How long does it take?
A design for a house usually takes one or two weeks. We name the exact date once we see the plan.
Can you just check someone else's design?
Yes. We will look at the calculation and tell you where it is oversized and where it will fall short.
